Trump-No-Bump: “Fight!”

A fist too far

“Fight!”

It’s being said that Trump’s bloodied-up fist-in-air pic captures the moment; it may capture more than that.

There is a nearly universal instinct when injured for someone to get back on their feet and proclaim, “I’m OK.” We’ve all done it. It may be our need to prove to ourselves that we are, indeed, in working order.

Many a leader in such a moment, once on their feet, would give a “thumbs up” to the crowd or a hands-up, open-palm gesture signifying all was well.

Instead, Trump clenched his first in the air while shouting “fight.”

Nicked by a gunman and aware that he was not seriously injured, his instinct was to incite his supporters rather than to reassure them.

Trump incited the crowd on January 6 and you don’t teach an old dog new tricks--it’s who he is and he did it again on Saturday.

Newsweek reports that the first poll conducted since the Pennsylvania shooting shows no sympathy bump for Trump.

Biden may have even closed the gap to a tie.

If the poll had matched the now deceased gunman against Trump who would have won?

Such is the level of national discord.
