Where’s Curley when you need him?

Boston Firefighters IAFF Local 718 is being ridiculed and worse as they endure the frigid cold to protest the City’s Covid-19 vaccine mandate.

The cold isn’t the weather so much as the response from Mayor Wu and the Boston Globe.

They ain’t have’in it.

Mayor Wu

Following up on his New York Vaccine Mandate Debacle, IAFF president and sometime Boston firefighter Ed Kelly is reprising his hara-kiri on home turf.

Poor Ed, the New York scars had barely healed before out came the knife again.

Kelly

Covid-19 vaccines prevent serious illness allowing health care professionals and hospitals to remain available to treat those most in need of care.

But select groups of firefighters want to wander unvaccinated among the town folk as paid public safety disease vectors.

Mayor Michelle Wu is a long way from Beantown’s James Michael Curley, a mayor and governor the Jakes could love.

Curley’s time as governor was once described as “a disaster mitigated only by moments of farce” which is a fair description of Ed Kelly’s Covid-19 performance.

Curley

With 90 percent of the City’s firefighters in compliance with the vaccination mandate, Kelly and 718 are recklessly staking out a selfish and retrograde position which will haunt them for a long time to come.

As it should.
