IAFF: Want to Meet a “Rock Star”?

(Spoiler Alert: It’s Not Me)

My calling out of a uniformed FDNY captain at the J6 rally in DC earned me twenty minutes of twitter fame.

I heartily thank all my union brothers and sisters and others who showed their support and backed me up.

Someone even called me a rock star, LOL.

By the way, I never heard from my IAFF leadership despite the national attention given to the matter; it was the perfect opportunity to show where the IAFF stands on protecting democracy and truth.

My district vice-president, his fellow board members, President Kelly and Secretary Lima all stayed dead silent despite their well known love of the patriotic backdrop; they wear the flag but decline to defend it.

Lovin’ that flag.

But they’re busy and we know it.

Busy hiding the investigative report detailing decades of improper conduct and outright corruption at the very top of our union.

Now, for the real rock star.

She’d know a thing or two about being ignored by the IAFF (or worse) for years on end.

Diane Cotter should be known far and wide as the person who built the team which has exposed the PFOA cancer scandal.

Cotter

She’s been shunned (and worse) by our union, even as she tried to help them.

Instead of working with her, the IAFF is busy cozying up to fire/rescue vendors, the very people we expect them to vigorously police.

We even promote these vendor’s products on the IAFF website and in the magazine!

With the IAFF leadership against her, Diane and her mates simply built their own research and advocacy operation.

If the IAFF won’t advocate for safety and health, they will.

And their accomplishments are truly impressive.

They did it because our union, once again, took a pass on protecting us prompting the question, what exactly is a union for?

Robbing us blind apparently.

And then trying to hide it.

Diane is the spouse of a fire fighter, so we can all appreciate the irony that the IAFF has abdicated its health and safety mission to a member’s wife.

Once again, the IAFF leadership shows that they “lead” a corrupt enterprise.

They are both incompetent and impotent.

Diane Cotter and her team are the proof.

In this time of Covid, Cotter and her team are the healthy immune response to an IAFF body otherwise racked with disease.
