Our Gang

Schaitberger

News broke last night that a federal grand jury issued a subpoena to the IAFF seeking information regarding president-for-life Harold Schaitberger’s high-on-the-hog lifestyle.

From Politico,

It requested a series of documents pertaining to Schaitberger including his “personnel file” as well as those related to employment records, travel, expenses, use of IAFF debit or credit cards or use of IAFF landline or cell phone numbers. It also requested documents related to IAFF policies on financial practices and use of union credit or debit cards.

“The agencies requesting the subpoena included the U.S. Attorney’s Office in D.C., the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Office of Investigations — Labor Racketeering and Fraud at the U.S. Department of Labor.”

We hope that the feds are patient as they will have a mountain of receipts to plow through from Schaitberger’s various IAFF credit cards. Schaitberger lived on the IAFF dime spending hundreds of thousands of dollars at The Prime Rib, The Capital Grille, Morton’s, The Palm and every other fancy steak house in the U.S.

He also demanded plush leased Cadillacs, first class air travel and a limousine service, living like a king all the while.

And let’s not forget his taking hundreds of thousands of dollars in “per diems” while simultaneously billing everything to the IAFF, a princely “double dip.”

(He would hand out tips like a fat cat and then ask for reimbursement for them and once even billed a $12 Scrabble game to his credit card.)

Then there is the illegal double severance payments the board awarded themselves.

Dennis Williams and Gary Jones, convicted UAW officers have nothing on Harold Schaitberger, in fact, Harold could teach them a thing or two.

The feds also need to probe the IAFF Financial Corp and Schaitberger’s relationship with Jim Franzoni, the longterm no-bid contracts with Kelly Press and others and his awarding of no-show/low-show so-called “consultant” contracts to departing flunkies.

So, while Ed Kelly stood on the stage in Florida this week and tap danced his way around the non-release of the Schnader report, he knew that the IAFF is fully in the bull’s eye of federal authorities but still failed to face the facts or be honest with the members.

Kelly

(He actually stood on that stage and yammered on about transparency — the guy’s got balls.)

He’s either an idiot or Harold Schaitberger with a Dorchester accent.

By the way, I wrote yesterday about vice president Walsh, if he knew of the subpoena and still wrote the sentence I referenced, what are we to think?

And meanwhile, the gang of ten, the vice presidents who refuse to release the Schnader report, also affectionately known as the “Schaitberger Bitch Boyz” would have known of the subpoena, as well.

Woolbright (2) Thornberg (5) Sanders (8) Gilman (10) McGhee (11) Dix (12) LeBlanc (13) Todd (14) Burry (15) Johnson (16)

They are all the proof you will ever need that our union is rotten to the core.

It is fervently hoped that the federal subpoena included the Schnader report and the absurd report authored by Frank Lima which greenlighted Schaitberger’s improper pension.

I hope every one of those corrupt crew felt a bead of icy sweat meander down the middle of their back as they read the Politico article because they’re next.

P.S. A very special shout-out to California’s Brian Rice and Phoenix’s Steve Beuerlein for tirelessly defending Harold Schaitberger. I am nominating you for the “Junior Schaitberger Bitch Boyz” club. This means you get to refill the vice president’s wine glasses at their next steak dinner and help them get to their all expenses paid suites as they stumble drunkenly home.

Cheers.
