IAFF: U.S. Prez Endorsement — How They Voted

A Declaration of Irrelevance

The IAFF executive board met in Washington and decided — to do nothing.

At least the vote was close meaning that many wanted to do something.

Were Slevin, Colbert and Pantelis following Edzo orders or voting their districts?

The big disappointment — but not a surprise — is Andy Pantelis sitting on his hands, taking the easy way out. Mark my words — one day he will want to declare himself a bold leader but this vote should haunt his days.

The surprise is Danny Todd, a.k.a. Father Time, voting to endorse (and being awake to do it.)

To Endorse

Vote Total: 151,342

2nd District (Woolbright) Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska

5th District (Mitchell) Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin

7th District (Walsh) Alaska, Idaho, Montana, and Washington

8th District (Sanders) Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and Ohio

10th District (Gilman) Arizona, California, Hawaii, New Mexico, and the Commonwealth of Northern Mariana Islands

14th District (Todd) Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee

16th District (Johnson) Federals

No Endorsement

Vote Total: 155,202

1st District (Slevin) New Jersey and New York

3rd District (Colbert) Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont

4th District (Pantelis) Washington, D.C., Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia

9th District (Franier) Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Wyoming

11th District (Glynn) Oklahoma and Texas

12th District (Dix) Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina

Abstain:

6th District (Carter) Canada

13th District (LeBlanc) Canada

15th District (Ross) Canada

As one longtime IAFF leader put it:

I’d have more respect for them if they endorsed Trump. Elections are about making choices for the good of your members. I would have flushed out those who hid behind “no endorsement”. Make them take a stand for their candidate. The board allowed these cowards to hide. I blame the Harris supporters too. They could have made a motion and a second to endorse Trump and expose these scumbags.

Cheers.
